Animated video making

Dear educators

Animations help in presenting the content in a lively and virtually engaging way. If you observe the habits of children, you will find that they take great delight in watching and sharing videos, memes, gifs, etc. This shows that animated content leaves a deep routed impact on their mind.

So if animated videos are incorporated in our teaching, complex topics can be explained in a way so that it is easy for them to comprehend. Also, it makes learning more interesting and enjoyable

Gone are days when animation making can only be done by experts or specialized animators only.

Nowadays there are a lot of Animation making tools available online where even a beginner can make animations.

I keep on trying various animation tools. Recently, I have tried making an animated video using Plotagon: https://www.plotagon.com/

I find it really simple.

1.     Select background

2.     Select characters

3.     Write text which they have to speak or record your own voice

4.     Save and share

You can get a Desktop app or even a mobile app

Interactive Image game of Snakes and Ladders with a twist

 Dear educators

Children love to play games and when we use games in teaching, students become more motivated to learn, pay attention and participate in set tasks.

Snakes and Ladders is a game which every one of us has played. This is the same game but with a twist. This game aims to sensitise students towards children with special needs (CWSN). This game has a lot of interactive points that guide them to avoid inaccurate words, inappropriate behaviours and negative stereotypes towards CWSN.

Now coming to TWIST

Few Ladders have RED colour question prompt, if you give the right answer, you get a bonus chance to roll dice again, and few snakes have a YELLOW colour question prompt, if you give the right answer, you get a chance to resume from your original place.

Also teachers can find reference material related to CWSN published by NCERT and UNESCO

Note:

·        For best experience play it in full screen mode

Cybersecurity Infographics every educator should refer

Dear educators

Due to the threat faced by COVID 19 pandemic, almost all educational institutions in all the countries shifted to an online mode for teaching.

This shift to online learning presents various security threats to teachers, learners as well as their parents as they are now more prone to cyber-attacks than before. Recent reports show a spike in cybercrime since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, making cybersecurity a key concern for educators.

I recently did Cybersecurity Training for Teachers course at MOOCs for Development platform. https://www.mooc4dev.org/

I really liked the way this course was designed. I especially liked the infographics shared on various topics of Cybersecurity which summaries various topics that we educators should know to keep ourselves and our students safe online.

I am sharing those infographics for benefit of all. Feel free to use them and share them if you want
