Editable quiz game for engaging students during digital teaching

Dear Teachers

I am going to discuss one of the ways to make your online class more lively and engaging by providing you all with an editable quiz game which you can customize according to your requirement and use it during your online class.

We all have currently shifted to a digital mode of teaching due to the current pandemic because of COVID -19. While remote learning isn’t a perfect substitute for in-class instruction, there are lots of ways to keep students engaged while they’re learning from home. Teachers are trying their best to organise teaching resources like presentations, videos, online quizzes, etc. to be used in their online classes.

I made this quiz game using  PowerPoint Presentation and tried it in my class and saw a drastic increase in the engagement level of students .

I am sharing the same for the benefit of all.

To Download this quiz: CLICK HERE

These are fully editable Presentation slides having 10 questions.

Steps  to Edit :

1.    Download Presentation

2.    Go to Slide number 3 and type question and the 4 choices of answer where one choice is correct.

3.    Do the same with slide number 6, 9,12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, and 30.

4.    Save your Presentation.

How to use it in an online class :

1.    During the online class, you can either share your screen or presentation

2.    Share the rules given on Slide number 2

3.    After reading the first question and 4 choices given, tell your students to write answers or choices in the chatbox.

4.    Press enter and the timer will start. It shows Time out after 10 seconds.

5.    After 10 seconds you can take the name of students whose answer is correct and quickest. Click on the choice selected by student and slide changes and displays “ Correct answer” “ Next Slide”

                                               OR

6.    You can also pick a name randomly from participants and tell them to unmute themselves and answer

7.    If students select the wrong answer, don’t stop them. Rather you should click the wrong answer for them and slide changes and display “The wrong answer” “ Try Again”.

8.    Try the same for other questions also.

Check the video below of how it works

The important thing to remember  :

1. I have followed the following sequence of the correct answers in 10 questions framed by me.

Q1: Option B

Q2: Option A

Q3: Option A

Q4: Option C

Q5: Option D

Q6: Option B

Q7: Option C

Q8: Option A

Q9: Option A

Q10: Option B

Do not move slides position as I have applied a certain setting that will be disturbed and as a result, the presentation will not work properly.

TRICK : If you want to set some other order of correct answers, It is possible. You have to just swap the options on a particular slide and changing the Alphabet written on them.

Check video below

This tool will help your students to prepare for objective type questions like Fill in the blanks , MCQ’s , True/False , Matching etc.
